Studios
Offering funding is one thing, but more often than not, the funded researchers need a space or studio space to work on their research projects. Thus, our studios, being the resources we offer in addition to funding, are available to researchers (primarily Virginia Tech faculty and students) working on projects funded by ICAT.
We proudly say that our studios are where big ideas happen in artistic and technological innovation. Being at the intersection of many fields of studies and departments at Virginia Tech, it made sense for us to spread across campus rather than remain headquartered in only one place. Though primarily located at the Moss Arts Center, we have studios in the Newman Library and the media building, all on the Blacksburg campus.
Outside of Blacksburg, we partner with the Taubman Museum of Arts in Roanoke and the city of Alexandria in Northern Virginia to host exhibitions and events.
