DAAS Lab

The Digital Arts and Animation Studio (DAAS lab) is a state-of-the-art facility with twenty-one computers, predominantly Macs, ready to support and fuel your creative endeavors. The DAAS lab is a gateway to unleashing artistic potential, equipped with essential tools, including a scanner to transfer hand-drawn sketches into digital copies and a dedicated camera setup for stop-motion animations.

Each workstation is equipped with industry-standard media creation software, ensuring access to the necessary tools at your fingertips. Our comprehensive software suite empowers you to tackle the most creative projects with confidence and finesse—the software programs available on the stations range from Maya to Adobe Creative Cloud and ZBrush to Blender.

As an instructional space for Creative Technologies classes, the DAAS lab is where courses ranging from stop-motion to advanced 3D character animation to animatronics are taught. Whether you're delving into the intricacies of video compositing or exploring 2D or 3D animation, DAAS provides the ideal environment to nurture your talents and refine your skills as part of a class or independent practice.

Access to DAAS computers is granted with prior permission from ICAT or Creative Technologies faculty and staff. While primarily utilized for classroom instruction, our lab welcomes students seeking to engage in their coursework in the evenings and on weekends. Should you wish to use the DAAS lab for your creative projects, please get in touch with ICAT for further assistance.
