    Virginia Tech Perspective Gallery employs students to work with the director overseeing gallery operations and programming. During the pandemic we continued supporting their positions and kept the arts alive and available for student co-curricular activities through a series of student created “easy art” videos and Take & Make Pop Ups.

Responsive to the region, this curriculum focuses on sustainability in agriculture and engineering and aims to mitigate existing academic opportunity gaps for rural students.

    Virtual Museums: Avatar-guided and Game-based Experiences for Learning and Engagement

    Presence, engagement, and a real connection are difficult to establish through virtual exhibits. To explore these challenges, we partnered with the Liberation War Museum in Bangladesh and created a web-based 3D virtual museum where three galleries have three different presentation modalities - "self-guided," "avatar-guided," and "game-based." We explore their learnability, usability, and engagement.
