The VTDITC Sankofa Mixtape
The Virginia Tech Digging In The Crates (VTDITC) Sankofa Tape represents a rare opportunity to empower students' creativity via culturally relevant pedagogy, meaningful community-based experiential learning, and digital scholarship. The Sankofa Tape is a re-envisioning of the student research project and installation “Sound of Space: An Interactive Afrofuturist Experience,” which was first experienced in the Cube in 2019. Using the state of the art technology in The Cube at the Moss Art Center and VTDITC’s music lab, True School Studios, VTDITC community members will push the boundaries of artistic expression in the audio, visual, and live performance realms.
