In the West, Congolese/African artworks are just exotic objects to be looked at, photographed, or owned; they are commodities. To the Congolese people, those objects are masterpieces, symbols of freedom, resistance, hope, spirituality, and cultural and historical identities. Past, Present, Future is an immersive VR and projection-mapping installation where I recontextualize some displaced Congolese/African artifacts and re-interpret them with a futuristic yet magical lens.
