Digital Games and Interactive Entertainment Curriculum
Given the popularity of digital games and interactive entertainment among career aspirations of our best up-and-coming minds, curricula focused specifically on digital games and interactive media are of value to students and leverage the university’s strong position to prepare students for careers that merge technical acumen, creative brilliance, and social responsibility. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary curricula will complement disciplinary strengths at Virginia Tech related to digital games and leverage the diverse academic and professional knowledge on campus related to an industry that draws from an eclectic range of skills and perspectives among its ever-growing constellation of professionals. Support from the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology and the Academy of Transdisciplinary Studies allows leading faculty from engineering, arts and humanities, and social and behavioral sciences to work together in creating a unique learning experience for students from all over the Virginia Tech campus interested in digital games design and analysis.
