What does ICAT Day look like?

The twelfth annual ICAT Creativity + Innovation Day is hosted by the Virginia Tech Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology to engage and connect the public to the latest creative and innovative works of students and faculty members. This celebration will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024. Projects from transdisciplinary courses, projects affiliated with ICAT, and community projects will be on display for the public. This space and time are provided to share more about your research with individuals across disciplines and build mutually beneficial relationships.

Interested participants are encouraged to submit a proposal that tells us more about the exhibit they wish to bring to this event by March 22. Be prepared to provide updated descriptive text/short video for our webpage and present to the public.

  • 3/15: Let us know if you are interested in sharing your innovative technologies and creative work.
  • 4/12: You'll share your completed project work for the web page, including updated descriptive text and a short video.
  • 4/29: We will gather to share and discuss projects with the public. Exhibits must be staffed from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Who can apply? Faculty members and students from all departments are welcome to submit their proposals.

What can I submit?  This event features projects funded by ICAT, projects from transdisciplinary courses, projects with ICAT-affiliated faculty, and community projects that work at the nexus of SEAD.

How do I submit it? Please use the proposal form linked above. Just tell us more about the exhibit you propose to bring to the event in a few responses and read the timeline provided for the following steps to come.

What do I do on ICAT Day? Participants will present their work and engage with their audience in a fun and interactive atmosphere. Exhibits must be staffed from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Moss Art Center.

How does it benefit me? You receive endless opportunities from sharing your expertise with individuals across disciplines in an engaging environment to building relationships with partners, potential collaborators, and museum directors.
