ICAT Playdate — Building a Sustainable Future
September 27, 2024
This project explores passive sustainable design in vernacular architecture, focusing on hot and arid climates in the Arab world and the Middle East. By studying the 19th-century House of Sheikh Isa in Bahrain, part of the UNESCO Pearling Path, the project aims to uncover energy-efficient systems adaptable to contemporary sustainable architecture. It also highlights the cultural and regional influences on design and space usage, providing students with insights into Arab and Islamic art, architecture, and culture. The knowledge gained will be integrated into classrooms through an immersive, interactive VR educational application, offering an engaging learning experience.
