Design students receive feedback through critique sessions with peers and instructors. Especially when they are designing physical artifacts, face-to-face critiques around the objects themselves are critical—but in-person sessions are not possible during the pandemic. We designed an augmented reality smartphone app that allows students and instructors to scan, share, and collaborate around virtual versions of their physical artifacts. The app is now being tested by Industrial Design faculty and students.
