Vimbuza Healing Systems

Vimbuza is a powerful Tumbuka healing tradition from Northern Malawi where music, dance, plant medicine, and ancestral connection come together to treat illness in ways that modern science is only beginning to understand. This project offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from Indigenous healers as they document and revitalize their own cultural knowledge using tools that honor their values and worldview. By supporting Vimbuza’s preservation, we gain insight into a sophisticated therapeutic system while helping ensure that its wisdom is carried forward for future generations. This project seeks to preserve and revitalize Vimbuza, an indigenous Tumbuka healing tradition, through a UNESCO-compliant digital archive and immersive exhibition that integrate music, ritual, and community knowledge.
