ICAT Playdate — Bad Star (in Cube)
October 12 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am UTC-5
Composer and electric violinist Charles Nichols is collaborating with architect Jon Rugh, video artist Zach Duer, composer and electric guitarist André Foisy, and composer and electric banjoist Holland Hopson to develop an immersive audio and video performance, titled Badstar. Rugh has designed and constructed custom architecture hung from the ceiling of the cube, that Duer will project processed video upon, from four projectors placed on the four walls of the Cube. Nichols, Hopson, and Foisy have been developing an hour of metal inspired music, to perform from the first catwalk, on three walls of the Cube, to be spatialized around the 134.6 channel immersive spatial audio system. The result will be three shows of immersive audio and video, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 11, 12, and 13 at 7:30 pm in the Cube of the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.
Speaker: Charles Nichols
