The Creative You, Exploration of Creativity Through Mindfulness/Awareness Practice by Mark Miller, M.F.A.

Creativity is a practice, and anyone can do it. Creativity doesn’t require genius, it isn’t a gift from the muse, and it doesn’t just happen. Creativity is a result of  determined effort, disciplined awareness, and joyful curiosity. Using musical improvisation as a model, this experiential workshop will explore an awareness-based approach to creativity applicable to anyone from any discipline interested in the creative process “from imagination to innovation.” Topics will include:

• Mindfulness/awareness practice: cultivating awareness as the foundation of creative process

• Creating community through collaboration: a practice of radical acceptance

• Constructive critique vs. the catastrophe of judgmental mind
