Community Playdate: "Matrix Redux" by Joe Wheeler and Denis Gracanin

Friday, November 7, 2014
Location & Time:

Moss Arts Center - Sandbox (8:30-9:30am)

Join us as we hear from Denis Gracanin (Associate Professor in Department of Computer Science) and Joe Wheeler (Professor in the School of Architecture and Design) about their ICAT funded project titled "Matrix Redux: Mixed Reality Environments for Multimodal Interactions in Large Physical Spaces and Places”. They will describe how to augment the existing Cube infrastructure and use it to asses human behavior and practices in built environments. The case study, FutureHAUS™ (the next generation LumenHAUS™), demonstrates how to use the developed infrastructure to better situate efforts within larger issues of housing in the future and how to foster the creative process in an architecture setting.

"Community Playdates" are open discussions of topics and ideas from ICAT, Virginia Tech, and the community. We welcome any interested students, faculty, and community members to join these discussions, and enjoy coffee/pastries from the Next Door Bake Shop!
