Community Playdate: "SeeMore" with Sam Blanchard and Kirk Cameron

Friday, November 14, 2014
Location & Time:

Moss Arts Center - Sandbox (8:30-9:30am)

Join us as we hear from Sam Blanchard (Assistant Professor - School of Visual Arts) and Kirk Cameron (Computer Science) regarding the ICAT funded project "SeeMore". SeeMore is the collaborative brainchild of an artist and a computer scientist both driven to educate viewers as to the importance of parallel computational thinking. The project was inspired by the wildly successful Raspberry Pi (RPi) – a small, fully functional computer designed at the extremely low cost of 35 USD. The resulting work showcases the elegance and significance of parallel computation to viewers while simultaneously educating and inspiring parallel computational thinking.

"Community Playdates" are open discussions of topics and ideas from ICAT, CHCI, Virginia Tech, and the community. We welcome any interested students, faculty, and community members to join these discussions, and enjoy coffee/pastries from the Next Door Bake Shop!
