Moss Arts Center - Sandbox (8:30-9:30am)

Join us as we hear from Holly Lesko (Institute for Policy and Governance - Community Engagment Research Faculty) about using digital narrative as a participatory research method and the foundations that like to fund it. Holly Lesko will share her use of digital storytelling to engage youth around issues and assets of health and the use of that data capture to enhance quantitative measures of health in community for policy and programmatic change.  Her most recent work has been funded by both the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the WK Kellogg Foundation, Lesko will share strategies for determining how to select a foundation for your research funding pursuits and the relationship building process she has utilized to engage such funders in her work and ultimately the funding of her projects and research.

"Community Playdates" are open discussions of topics and ideas from ICAT, Virginia Tech, and the community. We welcome any interested students, faculty, and community members to join these discussions, and enjoy coffee/pastries from the Next Door Bake Shop!
